Egodo agrees Knights loan move

York City Knights have strengthened their squad with the one month loan signing of Tuoyo Egodo from Castleford.

The 20-year-old centre or winger came to Tigers’ boss Daryl Powell’s attention last season while on loan at Hemel Stags from London Broncos, where he had progressed through their youth system.

Powell was impressed enough to hand him a two-year deal in October, before organising a loan at Championship side Oldham to aid his development.

Powell said: “Tuoyo is a really physical player, he’s going to be a big kid as well. He is still really raw and has a lot to learn, but he has a lot of potential and is very physical when carrying the ball.

“Loan time is all part of the learning process – it’s a good grounding in a tough environment where you get challenged in different ways. It will all be beneficial for him moving forward.

Knights’ boss James Ford added: “Tuoyo will bring competition to our backline – he’s very athletic and is coming from a superb system at Castleford.

“Tuoyo will add punch and physicality to our edges at this important stage of the season, and I’m looking forward to seeing him in action.”
