Eden out for season

Hull KR are to be without full-back Greg Eden for the rest of the season, after he was injurd in Sunday’s derby defeat to Hull FC.

Eden, 22, suffered a knee injury just before half-time at MS3 Craven Park and his departure hurt Rovers, who led 8-6 at the interval.

The Red and Whites went on to lose 38-20, and having already lost Rhys Lovegrove to a rib injury before kick-off, head coach Craig Sandercock has a lot to think about ahead of Friday’s fixture with Leeds.

Sandercock said, “Greg is out for the rest of the season, it’s disappointing, especially as we’d already lost Rhys (Lovegrove) in the warm up.

“We had chances but a few very poor individual errors in the second half cost us dearly. Other than that, it was nip and tuck for long periods.

“All I’m worried about at the moment is finding 17 fit players to field at Leeds.”

With three games remaining eighth-placed Rovers are currently four points clear of Bradford in the final play-off position.
