Eden: I need to improve

Brisbane winger Greg Eden says he needs to cut out unforced errors to keep his spot in the NRL side.

Eden made his NRL debut on Friday against the Parramatta Eels.

The former Hull KR and Huddersfield made four errors in the Broncos’ win. One dropped high ball on his own tryline led to an Eels try in the following set.

“I need to cut out those unforced errors,” Eden told NRL.com

“There were a couple there that you wouldn’t expect your winger to make.  I’ll try and get more involved. I need to look for work in the middle of the field and make sure I get a few more carries.”

Eden has kept his place on the wing in Brisbane’s starting line-up for this Friday’s game against the Warriors.

The Englishman believes he has improved after 12 months of playing in the Queensland Cup.

“There were times last year that I came up with a few silly errors around the play-the-ball and in my passing,” he said.

“I wasn’t concentrating. I think I improved a lot over the pre-season and that’s why he [Wayne Bennett] now trusts me.

“I need to nail down a spot by playing well and hopefully that will give Wayne a headache on who to pick each week because we have so much depth at this club.

“It’s going to be an exciting game this week. First game at Suncorp and I’m looking forward to it.”
