National League One newcomers Sheffield Eagles have signed Adam Hayes from the Halifax Blue Sox.

Hayes follows team-mate Dominic Brambani to the Don Valley Stadium. The 24-year old started his career at Huddersfield before stepping down a division to join Featherstone Rovers – then in National League One, before moving across to Halifax in 2006. In between these switches, Hayes spent a season with Australian feeder club Casino.

"Adam's a lad we have been chasing for weeks," said boss Mark Aston – in charge of the club in his first season. "Having watched DVDs of him we are delighted – Adam has First Division experience and I'm sure he will add something to the squad."
