Sheffield Eagles have confirmed that they have become an accredited development partner of the ‘Embed the Pathway’ coaching programme.

The club now has the status of being an official England Rugby League development partner.

The Embed the Pathway programme is designed by the RFL to help players between the ages of 12 and 14 improve.

It is also intended to increase the pool of quality young players. Players are supported by community coaches and teachers, and are guided along a pathway that can take from amateur rugby to Super League.

“We are extremely pleased to have been awarded this accreditation by the RFL and feel we have been provided with an endorsement of the Player Pathway Program that we are currently developing,” said Eagles performance manager Nick Ward.

“Achieving the accreditation is the first step in establishing a player pathway programme to support the young players in the Sheffield and Sub-Regional area to achieve their potential within the sport of rugby league.”
