Dureau to undergo more tests

Catalans Dragons scrum-half Scott Dureau is to have more tests at hospital later today to determine the cause of his latest health scare.

Dureau, 26, has a brain tumour removed in January and made his Catalans comeback at Magic Weekend but was taken ill during his side’s 32-32 draw with Widnes on Sunday.

The Australian complained of blurred vision while lining up a second-half goal-kick and was immedately taken to hospital.

And while Dureau was released late last night and able to fly home with his teammates, he is set to undergo more scans upon his return to the south of France.

Catalans media manager Yannick Rey said: “The tests he had in the hospital in Manchester showed the problem is not related to his surgery but he will go for more examinations in Perpignan today.

“He may have more scans and he will also go back to see his specialist in Toulouse tomorrow. We will get all the results back before making a decision on when he can return to training.”

Dureau is due to have regular check-ups to ensure the tumour does not return.
