Catalans centre Vincent Duport has signed a new two-year contract with the Dragons.

The French international will remain at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium until the end of the 2018 campaign.

Duport said: “I’m really happy to have re-signed for two years with the Catalans Dragons. I’ve been here for ten years now and I’m really proud to be part of this club.”

“I would like to thank the fans for their support throughout the good and bad times. Their support is essential for us and they are one of the reasons we want to give our best every day.”

The centre, who has scored six tries this season in 20 Super League appearances, is the second highest try-scorer in the club’s history with 61 tries in 140 Super League games.

Club CEO Christophe Jouffret saud: “We are very happy to keep Vincent at the club. He is a player who has worked really hard to succeed and he is an example for all the young players here at the club.

“His humility and perseverance have been rewarded with this new two-year contract.”

Catalans Dragons coach Laurent Frayssinous said: “He is a player that every coach would like to have in his squad, his professionalism and attitude on and off the field are an example to all.

“He is a safe bet in the competition who brings his experience to the group and he is someone who always gives his best, especially in the key moments.”
