Duo sign on with Hunslet for 2020

Hunslet have announced the signings of Danny King and Kiedan Hartley for the 2020 League 1 season.

King, 22, made six appearances in 2019 between Dewsbury Rams and York City Knights, and has joined Hunslet on a one-year deal.

“I’m looking for more game-time, and Hunslet coach Gary Thornton is willing to give me the chance of more regular rugby.

“I’ve spoken to other players who have been at Hunslet, or who know about the club, and everyone speaks very well of them. It was a no-brainer to sign on, really.

“I’m a hard-grafting second-row or loose forward with good hands, and I think what I also bring to the game is the ability to do the little things right.

“I can only improve with more rugby under my belt – I’m delighted to be here, and there’s a strong feeling that Hunslet will be pushing hard for promotion.”

Hartley, 19, also joins the side on a one-year deal from Featherstone Rovers.

“I see my strengths as having a bit of pace and having good feet. I’m a quick lad, I’ve been told I can be a bit of a handful, and I aim to come up with the goods,” he said.

“I just need the one chance, which I never really got at Featherstone.”
