London Broncos have brought prop Lewis Bienek and winger Iliess Macani back to the club ahead of the 2022 Championship season.

Ireland international Bienek, 23, came through London’s academy before going on to have spells in Super League with Hull and Castleford. He has signed a two-year deal with the Broncos.

He said: “I’m looking forward to being back home in London, it’s where it started for me and means a lot to be back. I’ve gained a lot from my time at other teams that I want to take into 2022.

“Having spoken with Jermaine (Coleman, coach) about his goals for the team I feel I can bring something to the table and cannot wait for pre-season to start.”

Like Bienek, Macani is a product of the club’s academy and scored 26 tries in 68 appearances for the club. He then went on to play for Bradford, Sheffield and most recently London Skolars.

Macani said: “It is a huge pleasure to be back at the Broncos. The club means so much to me having started my professional career here. I feel a responsibility to do my best and help the club get back to where it used to be.

“I’m honoured to be given this opportunity to come back to this amazing club and to right some wrongs for myself whilst getting the club back up and challenging for success.”

Leigh land London Broncos forward

Leigh have signed forward Jacob Jones from London Broncos for the 2022 Championship season.

The 22-year-old back-rower came through London’s academy after starting out playing rugby union in Birmingham.

Jones has also enjoyed time on loan at League 1 side Coventry Bears. He was nominated for the League 1 Young Player of the Year award in 2019.
