Hunslet pair Ben Heaton and Tom Ashton have committed to the club for the 2020 season.

Centre Heaton, 29, scored 11 tries in 13 appearances for the League 1 side last season.

Outside-back Ashton, 27, crossed for 10 tries in 18 matches for the Parksiders in 2019.

Hunslet coach Gary Thornton said: “Ben missed a fair chunk of the season through injury and it hit us.

“He’s now back to full fitness and hopefully he’ll stay injury free next season. It’s great to have him back; he’s a big threat for us out wide.

“Tom’s season last time was disrupted by injuries a little and I’ve set him a bit of a challenge on fitness.

“He’ll be even more of a threat when fully fit and we’ll continue to spread the ball wide to give our big three-quarters plenty of opportunities; our aim is to win games by continuing to play expansive and entertaining rugby league.”
