Former Scotland international John Duffy will join their coaching team for the World Cup.

Duffy, 33, retired from playing following a persistent back injury at the end of last season, and has been coaching at former club Leigh and within the regional development programme, as well as running Scotland Exiles Under 18s and assisting at the recent Student World Cup.

He was Scotland‘s youngest ever international at the age of 16 back in 1997, and earned his 12th and final cap against France in 2011, the same year he scooped the Dave Valentine Award as Scotland‘s Player of the Year.

Duffy will work under head coach Steve McCormack, who will be assisted by Dave Rotheram.

They kick off their World Cup against Tonga at Workington on October 29, before games against Italy (Workington, November 3) and USA (Salford, November 7).
