Duffy confident of Featherstone response

Head coach John Duffy says Featherstone can travel to the capital this weekend boasting plenty of confidence.

Duffy’s Rovers travel to Ealing on Sunday afternoon to take on London Broncos in round two of the Qualifiers, following’s Saturday loss to Super League’s Leigh Centurions.

The new Featherstone coach took the positives from his side’s opening Super 8s defeat, insisting victory is “more than possible” if “lessons are learned”.

“We gave ourselves too much to do on Saturday, against a team which has been playing at higher intensity levels all year.

“We made errors and ill-discipline cost us. We have got some work to do this week.

“But, looking forward, we have something to build on here. We showed a lot of desire, the effort was great, though we struggled to take our chances.

“There are lessons to be learned on our part but we will travel to London with a great deal of confidence.

“Winning there is more than possible and we know a result there would kick-start our Qualifiers campaign.”
