Dragons duo to have scans

Crocked St George players Nathan Fien and Kyle Stanley will undergo scans to determine the extent of their respective injuries.

Both players were struck down with knee injuries during the Dragons’ 18-10 victory over Cronulla at Wollongong on Sunday

Stanley was stretchered off with a suspected ACL tear.

“Kyle has had a high-velocity twisting injury to his right knee and that’s always a concern,” Dragons Performance Director Andrew Gray told the club’s official website.

“We are reluctant to say much more but he will have an MRI-scan on it and we will be able to confirm the diagnosis then.”

Fien also suffered a knee problem and will undergo scans but Gray said medical staff are “not too concerned” about the veteran utility.

Experienced five eighth Jamie Soward missed the match with the Sharks due to a back spasm but is expected to make a return against South Sydney at ANZ Stadium on Saturday.
