‘Down’ Fairbank making the best of things at Halifax

Jacob Fairbank is trying to make the most of what he calls a bad situation at Halifax.

The forward, who is currently on loan at Fax from Huddersfield, is clearly feeling annoyed that no place can currently be found for him at the Giants.

Now he wants to make a point during his loan spell at the Shay, and lift the bad mood which has been dogging him recently.

“I’ve got a point to prove more than being pleased to be here,” he told the Halifax Courier.

“To be honest, it’s not my first choice but it’s the best of a bad situation and I’m going to make the most of it.

“I thought I’d had a good preseason at Huddersfield; I put my all in to be honest, I was towards the front in most things and I thought I’d put my foot in the door.

“But I’m not in their plans at the moment and I want some game time.

“I’ve been a bit down lately; I played in the Warrington league game last season, thought I went okay, then got dropped and haven’t had a look in since.

“I was down to start in the pre season game at Bradford, but when that was called off I wasn’t selected at all the following week for the Halifax game.

“They say I’m unlucky, but I don’t know if it’s just talk; I’d have played the week after if he’d been so sure, wouldn’t I?

“I don’t know whether they’re trying to protect me, but I’d rather know the truth.”
