Doncaster forward Brad England will miss the start of the League 1 season with an elbow injury.

The back-rower was a key performer for the Dons in 2018, which saw him collect four awards at the end-of-season dinner.

England has picked up an elbow injury now though and is ruled out for up to 10 weeks.

Doncaster coach Richard Horne said: “It’s a big blow for us given how Brad performed last season, but he will strengthen us when he returns to the squad.

“The injury is something we wanted sorted one way or another, and although the outcome isn’t ideal, we know the time out will give it chance to heal.

“It gives other players a chance to impress while Brad isn’t available, which will add to the competition for places within the squad.”

England added: “I’m disappointed to be missing the start of the season but I’ll be doing everything I can to be back as soon as possible.

“I’m confident the boys will have a strong start to the season, we have kept a really good bunch together with a lot of quality in the squad.”
