Championship strugglers Doncaster have been deducted nine points for going into administration.

The South Yorkshire club went into administration in June with debts of around £80,000.

The penalty will applied immediately and leave Doncaster with a points tally of minus one.

Doncaster were already relegated and well adrift at the foot of the table having won just one game all season.

Widnes were deducted nine points last season after entering administration, while in Championship 1, Rochdale started this season on minus nine.
