Doncaster chairman retires

Doncaster have revealed that club chairman John Scarrow has retired, and have thanked him for his efforts whilst he was in the post.

He had been chairman of the club since 2010.

Dons chief executive Carl Hall said: “I’d like to thank John for his efforts for the Dons during my tenure as owner of the club, where he has been a great help to me personally.

“I am sure he will enjoy his well deserved retirement after a long service to. I hope he will continue to come to our games as a supporter – though I may not let him sit next to me so that the tan from all the beach holidays he has planned doesn’t show me up.”

A club statement added:

“John said it had been an honour to be chairman of the club, playing a role in a period of rebuilding and development.As a newcomer to rugby league, he noted he always valued the advice, friendship, support and contribution of supporters and staff.

“He is confident that under the umbrella of Club Doncaster, the Dons will move forward and achieve their aspirations.”
