Donaldson faces anxious wait

Bradford youngster James Donaldson will have to wait to find out the seriousness of his knee injury after his scan was delayed.

Donaldson, 19, picked up a nasty looking injury in the closing stages of Sunday’s Challenge Cup defeat against Warrington and was scheduled to have a scan today.

However, a club statement said that the specialist in charge of any treatment will wait until the swelling goes down before assessing the damage and the scan is now likely to take place next week.

Coach Steve McNamara said after the game: “We have to wait to see the specialist’s verdict before we can assess the extent of the injury.  It looked very serious at the time and I am personally gutted for James who was really playing well.

“Whatever the outcome we will look after James, make sure he gets the correct rehab and get him back to full fitness as soon as is realistically possible.”
