Hull KR half-back Michael Dobson is keen to bid a successful farewell to the Robins’ supporters, who have helped in creating some great memories for him at MS3 Craven Park.

Rovers launch their play-off campaign at St Helens on Saturday afternoon, and Dobson is desperate for his team to reward the fans with a win.

“I’ve loved every minute of it,” he told Love Rugby League

“I’m going to take back some great memories from Hull KR. They’ve been a great club to me.

“Everyone at the club, especially the fans, has been awesome.

“I’m really looking forward to the play-offs. It’s great to be in them and hopefully we’ll have a good run at it.

“It would be great to go on a run. That’s the plan. It’s not going to be easy.

“We’ve got a tough game on Saturday against Saints, and then a tough one against Huddersfield Giants, should we make it that far.

“So it’s going to be tough, no matter what happens.

“It’s not going to be easy. Saints are a tough team with plenty of experience in the play-offs.”

Since his arrival in east Hull in 2008, Dobson has played a key role in turning the Robins into a solid Super League outfit.

Being able to witness the club grow has been a highlight of his stay, according to the man bound for the Newcastle Knights in 2014.

“Just watching the club grow from when I got there in 2008,” he said, when asked about Hull KR highlights.

“They are an established Super League team now, who always challenge for the play-offs. That’s something that the club should be really proud of.”

Another man who has enjoyed a good season with Rovers is coach Craig Sandercock, on whose shoulders a large amount of pressure was heaped early on in the campaign.

“He’s done really well, and earned the extension [to his contract] that he got,” Dobson added.

“He’s had some tough cards dealt to him with the injuries and that, and he’s cracked on.

“I think he’ll be great for the club in the years to come.”
