Castleford Tigers winger/centre Kirk Dixon has signed a new three-year contract extension which will keep him at the club until at least the close of the 2014 season.

A firm fans’ favourite, Dixon, 26, joined the club from Hull FC in 2007 and is one of only four players to have starred for the club as they gained promotion back to the Super League that year.

On committing to the Tigers, Kirk, who was out of contract at the end of the season, said: “I’m absolutely over the moon. Castleford is a Club that I didn’t want to leave.

“They decided they wanted to keep me and it wasn’t a tough decision. I owe the club a lot of gratitude and its somewhere that I want to be. I enjoy my time here and that’s why I decided to sign.”

Kirk has played in 20 matches this season, having scored 8 tries and 84 goals. During his entire Castleford career so far, he has made 119 appearances and scored 64 tries, 238 goals and 732 points.
