Diskin disagrees with Cummins decision

Bradford Bulls captain Matt Diskin may have been appointed temporary coach at Odsal, but that does not mean he is happy about it.

The veteran hooker believes that the decision to sack Francis Cummins and his assistant Lee St Hilaire is a mistake.

He also believes that the situation has more to do with players not delivering on the field, than it has with the abilities of Cummins as a coach.

“We have to respect the board’s decision regarding the dismissal of Francis and Lee. Saying that, we don’t have to agree with it and personally I think it is the wrong decision in regards to the club’s long-term future,” Diskin opined, using his Twitter account.

“The facts are that we are in a results-based industry and as a group of players we have not transferred the skills, game plans and attitude that is of a high standard on the training field into our competitive games.

“This is something some of the most successful coaches in the world would struggle to remedy.”
