Dewsbury have signed winger Will Oakes from Hull KR on a one-year permanent contract.

The 21-year-old scored 10 tries in 24 appearances for the Robins since making his first team debut in 2016. He has earned five caps for Scotland on the international stage.

Oakes joined the Rams on a season-long loan for 2020 but he has now made a permanent switch to Dewsbury for next season.

Dewsbury coach Lee Greenwood said: “As a club we are really happy to bring Will in on a permanent deal.

“He was enjoying his time with us and this was showing in his performances.

“He has a point to prove to people and himself next year after leaving Hull KR and that can only be good for us.

“Will has the potential to step back up to Super League and we are happy to help him try achieve this.”
