Dewsbury sign Tom Garratt

Dewsbury have signed young front-rower Tom Garratt from Siddal for the 2019 season.

The 24-year-old had previously spent time in the Huddersfield Giants academy and has since played for Siddal in the amateur game.

Garratt will make the step up to the Championship this year, where he will link up with coach Lee Greenwood again.

On joining Dewsbury, Garratt said: “I have been coached by Lee and Gareth [Greenwood] before at Siddal and Calderdale College.

“They got the job here and asked if I wanted to be involved and they wanted to give me a shot, so I bit their hand off for it.

“I had set my stall out that I was going to be playing the rest of my days at Siddal which I was fine with, it’s my boyhood club and I love the club.

“However, when Lee asked me to come here, this opportunity was one I just couldn’t turn down.”
