Dewsbury Rams have announced the signing of centre Adam Ryder from League One side Keighley Cougars.

The 28-year-old has been released by Keighley, who are currently having financial difficulties and announced they will need to raise £45,000 to see out the season.

Ryder will join Neil Kelly’s side in the Championship for the remainder of the 2018 campaign, signing until the end of the next season.

Dewsbury currently sit 10th in the Championship table, just one-point ahead of Swinton Lions, who defeated them at Heywood Road last weekend.

On the signing, Kelly told the club’s official website: “I am delighted to be able to bring Adam to the club. I’ve had my eye on him for a while and was going to try and sign him next year.

“It is great that we have been able to sign Adam ahead of other clubs who were also interested in him.

“I’m looking forward to working with him.”
