Dewsbury Rams have confirmed their squad numbers for their 2023 League 1 campaign, with Paul Sykes wearing the number six shirt in his 25th season.

Sykes, who made his debut with Bradford back in 1999 aged 17, signed a new one-year deal with the Rams, who were relegated from the Championship in 2022.

He made his 500th professional appearance last season against York, and has recently been a part of the club’s coaching staff.

The 41-year-old will partner Calum Turner in the halves, who has been given shirt number seven, having joined the side ahead of the 2022 campaign.

Scotland captain Dale Ferguson will wear shirt number 10 in 2022, while international team-mate Davey Dixon has received shirt number 4.

New signing Perry Whiteley, who joins from York, will wear shirt number 23. Joining him for the 2023 season is prop forward Ronan Dixon, who has been given shirt number 15.

Wales international Connor Davies has been handed number 11, with former Halifax, London and Bradford man Matt Garside at 12.

The number 19 shirt has been left vacant, hinting at a possible new signing ahead of the 2023 season.
