Dewsbury announce two new signings

Dewsbury Rams have announced the signings of Matt Fleming and Tommy Brierley for the 2020 season.

Fleming, 23, joins from London Broncos where he made 13 appearances and scored six tries in 2019.

The centre has also played for St Helens and Leigh Centurions, and has made 43 Super League appearances.

“Matty is a fantastic signing for us,” said head coach Lee Greenwood.

“To get someone with the experience and quality he has is a huge bonus. I have no doubt that he can be back playing in Super League sooner rather than later and we’re happy to help him achieve that.

“I feel his best position is centre although he can play full back and wing equally as well.

“I feel he is the final piece of the jigsaw for us, adding pace, footwork and skill to our back line.”

Brierley, 23, signed for Leeds Rhinos at the age of 15 and left the club at 19, and has since then linked up with York City Knights.

Greenwood added: “Tommy is another player who has shown potential for a few years now. He can play in all the outside back positions and with a strong pre-season can really make an impression next year.

“He is another younger lad that will benefit from our partnerships with Hull KR and Coventry.”
