Demetriou wants 1000 fans

Keighley head coach Jason Demetriou has asked for a crowd of more than 1000 to turn up to support the Cougars against Whitehaven on Sunday.

Both sides have won seven games this season, although Whitehaven find themselves down in fifth place courtesy of a nine point deduction handed to them for entering administration in the close season.

And former Wakefield man Demetriou knows how important the home crowd will be to helping the Cougars get a result.

He said: “We have had a well earned weekend off, although we put in some very intense training sessions last week.  Whitehaven are in top form having previously had a draw with front runners Swinton, they will be coming to Cougar Park full of confidence.

“Off the field we are working hard to enhance matchday experience and give the cougar faithful a club to be proud of.

“If you’re coming down on sunday, bring a friend and lets get 1000 plus and give the players an atmosphere that inspires them.”
