Davies signs dual reg deal

Castleford back-rower John Davies has signed a dual-registration deal with Championship side Dewsbury.

Davies, 21, has made six first team appearances for the Tigers since making his debut against Catalan in 2010.

Tigers head of youth Steve Gill said: “John is narrowly missing out on a first team place at the minute and it’s important he keeps playing at a competitive level, as part of the deal John can be recalled by the Tigers with just 24 hours notice.”

The young forward wasn’t selected for Dewsbury’s Northern Rail Cup opener against Halifax on Sunday.
