Featherstone have secured two new recruits for 2016, with Jonny Davies and Jack Ormondroyd re-joining the club.

Davies, 24, will add experience to the forward pack, and Fev coach Jon Sharp is delighted to have signed the player on a three-year deal.

“Jonny played 27 times for the Eagles last season and is a dependable player who, despite only being 24, will add some experience and guile to our forwards,” he said.

Davies, who has been at Sheffield Eagles, is pleased to be returning to an outfit he considers his hometown club.

“Being from Pontefract, Fev is my local club and I’m aware of its history and the great players who have represented the Rovers,” he said.

“Fans can rest assured that during the next two years I will be doing all I can to ensure we will be competing for one of the top four places in the Championship.

“The opportunity to play here for the next two seasons will give some security to both myself and my family and having played against  Fev on a number of occasions it wlll be great to play in front of a large and vociferous crowd.”

Ormandroyd, another forward, is pleased to be staying at the club, and hopes to help them to more success in the coming years.

“Obviously I’m delighted to re-sign for Rovers having made my debut last season,” he said.

“To be honest I didn’t think I’d play as many games as I did last season and my aim for 2016 is to play as many if not more.

“As a youngster I followed the Bulls and to get the chance to play against them at Odsal, and win, was probably my highlight of the year along with winning the Championship Shield.

“Over the course of my contract I want to help Fev win some more silverware and do my best to ensure the Club goes from strength to strength.”
