Davies aiming high at Eagles

Sheffield Eagles’ new signing Olly Davies says he wants to nail down a regular starting spot in 2018.

The back-rower joined Mark Aston’s Eagles in the off-season from fellow Championship side Swinton Lions.

And the St Helens Academy product says he is determined to prove himself and be a regular at Sheffield.

He told sheffieldeagles.com: “I want to be targeting a starting spot every time, week in week out, that’s what the aim is.

“This is my second season in the league so I still feel quite young but I feel like I found my feet at the backend of last year and I’m up to speed with it and how it’s different to the Reserves.

“I’ve had my break-in and this year is to kick on and put my name out there.”

Davies could make his debut for the Eagles when they travel to Dewsbury Rams in the opening round of the Championship on Friday 2 February.
