Davidson extends Crusaders stay

Alex Davidson has agreed a new one-year deal with North Wales Crusaders, keeping him at the club for the 2018 season.

“Last year we had some great performances and were capable being in the top four, he said.

“Unfortunately, due to our inconsistency last year we didn’t make it.

“I want to be in a team that has that has the potential to achieve in this league, and we definitely have that here.

“The lads are great to work with and I want to keep playing rugby with good blokes that I can rely on.

“The coaches are another big reason for me staying as well, they showed a lot of faith in me last year and were honest with me throughout – which is exactly what I want from them.”

Looking ahead, Davidson added: “I’m looking forward to progressing from last year as a team and personally.

“I want to step up my game for the team, and as a team we need to perform in every game like we did against the top sides last year.

“I’m looking forward to stepping onto the pitch with guys again and enjoying playing the game.

“I’m also looking forward to the environment and support provided by TeamCru and the supporters.”

Crusaders head coach Mike Grady said: “Alex is a great player with a fantastic attitude.

“He works hard in both games and training and I’m looking forward to working with him again next year.”
