David Cameron backs Rhinos

Conservative Party leader David Cameron MP has become the latest high profile figure to give his backing to the Leeds Rhinos ahead of their epic Gillette World Club Challenge against Melbourne Storm on Sunday February 28.

As the Engage Super League champions prepare for the world title showdown, the leader of the opposition at Westminster has paid tribute to the Rhinos’ achievements on and off the field and wished them the best of luck at Elland Road.

David Cameron said: “I would like to send my congratulations to Leeds Rhinos for their excellent season and for all their success in the past decade and wish them the very best of luck for the World Club Challenge.

“As well as the players on the pitch I’d also like to pay tribute to all the work done by the club off the pitch.

“The Leeds Rugby Foundation makes a real difference to people’s lives right across West Yorkshire and its success mirrors the success week in, week out at Headingley.

“So good luck for the next crucial 80 minutes and the season ahead and let’s make this an exciting year for all of us.”

David Cameron is one of a number of famous faces to record a good luck message for a special video montage which will be previewed on www.engagesuperleague.co.uk at 12:00pm on Friday.

Tickets for the Gillette World Club Challenge at Elland Road on Sunday February 28 (6.30) are now available with prices starting from £20, or £10 concessions.
