Daryl Powell calls on Castleford players to start games better

Castleford coach Daryl Powell wants his players to start games in better form after their 28-8 win at Hull KR.

The Tigers were down 8-6 at the break but scored 22 unanswered points in the second half to beat Hull KR 28-8 at Hull College Craven Park on Thursday night.

Powell said: “We didn’t start that great. That gave them a bit of a sniff of the game.

“They played with a lot of energy. We didn’t really have any field position in the first half.

“We came out and had an awesome set at the start of the second half and they get a guy sin-binned.

“We started to get an ascendancy in the game. It wasn’t our best performance but we showed a lot of character.

“I think we are in a good place, the boys are enjoying what they are doing. We are not starting well but our second halves have been awesome, last two in particular.”
