Championship leaders Featherstone have loaned half-back Dane Chisholm to London Broncos on an initial two-week loan deal.

The 31-year-old playmaker has been at Rovers since 2019, but will join the Broncos in the short-term to get some minutes under his belt.

Dane Chisholm made a solitary appearance in the NRL for Melbourne Storm in 2011. He then moved to England with Hull KR before going on to have spells with Bradford, Sheffield and Featherstone.

The former France international is in line to make his Broncos debut in their Championship clash with his former club Sheffield on Sunday, April 16.

Meanwhile, Featherstone have also loaned forward Kyle Trout to Dewsbury on a two-week loan deal.

Trout has made almost 200 career appearances for Wakefield, Dewsbury, Sheffield, Hull KR, Limoux and Featherstone.

The 31-year-old will link up with the Rams ahead of their Heavy Woollen derby clash with Batley on Good Friday.

On loaning the duo out, Featherstone coach Brian McDermott said: “We’re in a fortunate position to have a fiercely competitive squad that we’ll need to use as a system for the entire season.

“All members of the squad will be required to play their part. In the meantime, it’s important that those who aren’t playing now get good game time elsewhere so that they’re ready to go when called upon.”

Rovers currently sit top of the Championship table, having won six from seven. They above promotion rivals Leigh by a point.

Featherstone travel to Leigh on Monday, June 13 in what will be one of the games of the Championship season.

Elsewhere in the Championship: Barrow Raiders sign Super League centre on loan

Barrow Raiders have announced the signing of centre Jack Croft from Wakefield on a two-week loan.

Croft, 21, made his debut for Wakefield in 2019. He scored a try in a 48-10 loss against St Helens. He has since made 10 appearances for the club.

Having made two appearances for Oldham on dual-registration in 2020, he joined the then-Championship side on a season-long loan.

Morgan Escare also made his Barrow debut on loan from Salford last week against Batley. He joined the side on a short-term loan deal.
