Leeds prop Adam Cuthbertson is pushing for a return from injury this Friday against Huddersfield.

Cuthbertson tore muscles in his elbow at the start of April and has missed the Rhinos’ past three games.

The Australian forward is a chance to feature against the Giants, but Brian McDermott may not risk his him.

“I don’t know yet, I literally came in this [yesterday] morning open-minded, talking to the physios,” he told Love Rugby League.

“Obviously I haven’t done any contact or anything like, so it just depends.

“I’ll do some training with the ball and go from there.”

Cuthbertson admits it has been frustrating to be out injured for the past month.

“I was bit banged up the Easter weekend,” he said.

“I had a hand problem and I was sort of over-compensating a bit, I went into a tackle and it went all wrong.

“Next minute I’m on the sidelines. It’s been coming up three weeks now this week so I’m making some movement in terms of getting back into training, which is positive for my frame.”

Cuthbertson said it is important for Leeds to aim to rack up wins week by week, starting with Huddersfield.

“We can’t really think about where it will put us on the table, it’s about putting in a great performance and getting a win,” he said.

“Obviously we’ve got them two weeks in a row too at their home ground. We have to come out and perform otherwise it’s going to be a tough two weeks for us.”
