Cunningham out for four weeks

St Helens will be without Kieron Cunningham for as many as four weeks after the hooker suffered a knee injury against Celtic Crusaders.

The Saints hooker will have to undergo minor knee surgery that will result in time spent on the sidelines.

Cunningham is in the last year of his contract and has yet to decide whether he will continue after the end of the season.

“He’s been just about ever-present and has really done the hard minutes, starting the games, showing what a leader he is,” said coach Mick Potter.

“He has been enormous and has made us rock-solid for the year so far. It’ll be up to Keiron [whether he continues next season]. There is a possibility he could still do another year.”
