Cunningham keen for Shield success

London Broncos are ready to try and win some silverware, as they head into the Championship Shield section of the Super 8s.

A 22-14 home defeat to Sheffield on Sunday was a disappointing end to the first part of the season for the Broncos, but hooker James Cunningham is ready to do his utmost to win the Shield.

“It’s great to carry on the attitude we showed during the Sheffield game to the Super 8s and have a real crack at it,” he told his club’s official website.

“I think there’s a belief down here that we can get something out of the Super 8s now. We have to get our heads down in the next couple of weeks and come away with something.

“It would mean the world to the boys to reach the final of the shield, and to Andrew Henderson [head coach] too.

“The amount of work he’s putting in and the work that’s going on behind the scenes at the club I think we deserve something to show for it.”
