Cummins departs struggling Bulls

BRADFORD BULLS have today parted company with head coach Francis Cummins and assistant coach Lee St Hilaire, with immediate effect.

Cummins, who arrived at the Provident Stadium back in 2010 as assistant to then head coach Mick Potter, took the Bradford reins prior to the start of last season.

St Hilaire, meanwhile, has spent eight years with the club, acting as assistant coach and – for a spell – head coach.

A spokesperson for the club’s board of directors said: “This is a decision which has not been made lightly and Bradford Bulls would like to thank both Francis and Lee for their efforts over the years.

“Both have worked under difficult circumstances during their time here, but the club recognises that a change of direction is required.

“The board of directors has the upmost respect for both Francis and Lee and wish them well with their futures.”

The process of replacing both Cummins and St Hilaire is now underway.

In the meantime skipper Matt Diskin has agreed to act as temporary player-coach ahead of Friday’s visit of Hull Kingston Rovers, under the guidance of managing director Steve Ferres, in round seventeen of First:Utility Super League.
