North Wales have signed Matt Reid from Oldham for the 2019 season.

Reid scored 11 tries in 22 appearances in his only season for the Roughyeds in 2018.

The 26-year-old will return to Wrexham, where he spent two years before joining Coventry Bears midway through the 2016 campaign.

On the signing of Reid, Crusaders coach Anthony Murray said: “Matt has matured as a player since he was with us last time.

“He has the added experience gained from captaining Coventry and then at Oldham he played under a very physical coach in Scott Naylor.

“You can see that Matt’s approach to games has really come on and he has attributes which will really add to what we can offer.”

Reid is the second player to leave the Vestacare Stadium following the departure of Danny Langtree to Super League side Hull FC.
