Crusaders kick off Super League XIV

With the embargo finally lifted, Last Tackle can finally reveal that Welsh side Celtic Crusaders will open the Super League XIV campaign with a prestigious trip to champions Leeds at Headingley, in their re-arranged Round 3 fixture on 6th February.nnCrusaders were granted a Super League licence along with another thirteen lucky clubs and have yet to formally announce their eagerly anticipated squad line-up.nnCoach John Dixon said: “Playing the 2008 Super League and World Club Champions in our first fixture game provides us with the best possible introduction to playing at the elite level. n”We look forward to the game.” nnFour other clubs will feature on the opening weekend with Bradford Bulls travelling to Harlequins and Wigan facing Wakefield at the JJB Stadium in re-arranged fixtures from Round 2 and Round 17 respectively.nnBut the action really begins on 13th February when all teams will play their Round 1 fixtures.nnLeeds will face Wakefield at Headingley again, while Salford host Celtic Crusaders in a re-match from last season’s National League competition.
