Crusaders complete Bracek signing

Crusaders have signed Welsh international Andy Bracek on an 18-month deal. The 24-year-old joins just a day after the Welsh club added Jordan Tansey to their ranks.

Head coach Iestyn Harris reflected on the club’s second signing of the week: “Andy is a great signing for us. I’ve worked with him through the Wales set-up and he’s a powerful player with a great offload.

“We are a little bit light in the back-row at the moment so Andy will add size and power to our pack. He’s also skilful for a big man and I have aways been impressed with his willingness to knuckle down and work hard.”

Having played in Super League for both St Helens and Warrington in his career, the back-rower admitted that the opportunity to return to the top flight was too good to turn down.

Bracek said: “It’s great to be back in Super League and playing with the Crusaders.”

“As a player you want to play at the highest level week-in, week-out and I am very grateful to Crusaders for giving me this opportunity.

“I’ve played under Iestyn Harris with Wales, he’s a great coach and I am looking forward to playing for him once again.”

Bracek is currently recovering from a knee injury and expected to be fit to make his debut within three months.
