Crusaders have announced that their main shirt sponsor for 2010 will be Greene King IPA after Wales’ only Super League club completed the deal today.

Greene King will invest in the club over the next 5 years representing the largest ever deal struck by the Crusaders or Wrexham FC.

Crusaders’ chief executive Paul Retout said: “We are delighted to have secured this outstanding sponsorship deal with such a well known brand. They are a successful company who produce outstanding drinks and have a quality customer service to match. They are passionate about sport in general and we are pleased that they have chosen us for their first ever rugby league sponsorship deal. I’d like to give special credit to Mike Turner for securing the deal, his knowledge and experience of sport sponsorship proved invaluable.”

Joe Parks, Greene King Brewing Company Free trade sales director said, ‘We are excited to have signed a five year deal to supply Greene King IPA to the Racehorse Ground, home to Crusaders Rugby League and Wrexham Football Club. Rugby and ale are a great fit as we know these fans tend to appreciate quality ale. This is a growth area for us geographically so we’re looking forward to bringing quality ale up from the county of Suffolk.’

Greene King IPA is the Official Beer of England Rugby and supporter of the game from grassroots through to International levels.  Greene King IPA is also the official Beer of London Wasps, Harlequins and Sale Sharks.

The side will wear the Greene King IPA name on the shirts for the first time when they run out against Leeds Rhinos in their opening engage Super League fixture for 2010 this Friday at The Racecourse in Wrexham (kick-off 8pm). Tickets priced from just £7 for juniors and £15 for adults, can be purchased through the club’s ticket office on 01978 262129, by calling into the Wrexham FC club shop or by going to www.crusadersrfl.com.
