North Wales Crusaders have signed former Dewsbury Rams centre, Callan Beckett.

The 24-year-old joins Crusaders having spent time at Coventry Bears and Championship outfit Dewsbury Rams.

On signing for the club, Beckett said: “I’m delighted to have signed and I can’t wait to get going here.

“When I played for Dewsbury we always used to look forward to coming up against the Crusaders because of their supporters, so I’m now looking forward to being part of the club and playing in front of them every week.

“I just want to be part of the club and help the team in any way possible.

“I’m looking forward to working with both Mike [Grady] and Jonny [Leather] next season and it will be good to join such a great group of lads.”

Crusaders head coach Mike Grady added: “It’s great to get Callan on board for the 2018 season.

“Callan has played with Dewsbury for a numbers of years in the Championship and that experience will be a great addition to what is already a very good squad.

“He is predominantly a centre which is a position we needed to fill.

“Callan is a fantastic strike player on the edge, and he has still got his best years ahead off him.

“I’m looking forward to seeing Callan in a Crusaders shirt in 2018.”
