Crookes set for four-month absence

Hull FC winger Jason Crookes is likely to be sidelined for at least four months after injuring his shoulder in training.

Crookes, 23, had previously been out of action due to a wrist operation and head coach Lee Radford is disappointed for the former Bradford man.

“It’s a real shame for him because I know he was looking forward to the start of the season,” said Radford.

“To suffer the injury so soon after his wrist operation and before the season starts is very cruel, but it is part and parcel of our game and he’ll be well looked after by our medical department.”

After tests could not reveal the true extent of Crookes’ latest injury, he now faces surgery before a full prognosis can be made ahead of his rehabilitation.
