Cronulla’s board will meet with Valentine Holmes to discuss a proposed switch to NFL in the United States.

Australia international Holmes wants to leave the NRL for the NFL, according to Sydney-based newspaper The Daily Telegraph.

The 23-year-old, who has played over 100 games for the Sharks, still has a year remaining on his contract.

Holmes has also recently been linked with a move to North Queensland Cowboys for 2020.

The Queensland ace has previously stated that he would like to try the NFL after returning from a trip to the United States.

Holmes was tested by NFL scouts in 2016, alongside Tonga international Jason Taumalolo. It has been reported that he has again taken part in trials on a recent holiday in the States.

The full-back or winger has scored 66 tries in 105 NRL games, while crossing 25 times in 18 representative appearances.
