Craig Sandercock says his side’s last minute win over Hull FC will live long into the memory.

Sandercock’s side came from 30-16 down with 12 minutes left to secure a 32-30 win on the final day of the Magic Weekend’s first day.

It is a moment the Hull KR coach will cherish for the rest of his career.

He said: “There aren’t too many occasions in your coaching career where you win games in the last minute like that.

“It’s one of the best wins I’ve been involved with. The feeling is comparable to the 2008 Grand Final that Manly won because we showed desire and commitment, and responded really well to some adversity.

“If we can build on this, really work hard for each other and have a bit of luck with injuries then I’d like to think we can keep progressing.”

Sandercock also added that his side were out to gain revenge for their 36-6 loss to the Airlie Birds on Good Friday after receiving some criticism following the derby in April.

He said: “We’ve worked very hard during the past few months and we did cop a bit of stick last time we played Hull FC, so to come through the other side and to have that kind of belief and never give up was special.”
