Crabtree relishing Yorkshire derby Cup final

Huddersfield Giants prop Eorl Crabtree might not be playing in this weekend’s Challenge Cup final, but he is certainly looking forward to it.

The Giants man will be at the game as a media analyst, and he is relishing the chance to see two sets of Super League‘s noisiest fans go head to head.

“It’s going to be a fantastic experience,” he told Love Rugby League.

“I think the fans that are going to go down there are absolutely amazing.

“It’s two sets of fans, for me, who are some of the loudest, most vocal and highest in numbers.

“I can’t wait to see them all out in force. It’s a Yorkshire derby as well, which is fantastic.

“I will be there, I’ll be a part of it, but not in the way that I would have wanted to be.

“But I get to be in the best seat in the house, to watch the game and analyse it as well, which is fantastic for me.”

As well as the passionate atmosphere, Crabtree is also expecting fireworks on the pitch, with, in his view, two of Super League‘s most entertaining teams facing off against each other.

“As a spectactor I want to see the best games,” he added.

“The best game I’ve seen this season is Leeds v Cas, at Leeds, when they drew.

“I am hoping for a repeat of that. Maybe not the draw as such, but the way the game was played.

“The style of play that both teams used, the fast-flowing game where they both want to attack, and they’re trying to be smart about it as well, completing sets and playing winning rugby.

“I think it’s fantastic and it’s going to be a great game.”
