The race for Willie Mason‘s signature between North Queensland and Newcastle continues to hot up with the Cowboys confirming an offer has been made.

Club officials have confirmed that an offer has been extended to the 29-year-old test forward but have refused to reveal any details.

A statement released by the club read: “After extensive due diligence and encouraged by the unanimous support of the players and coaching staff, the Board of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys has decided to make an offer to Willie Mason.”

The Cowboys’ offer comes just a day after Newcastle officials revealed that the club have had talks with the former Canterbury Bulldog.

Knights players are apparently keen to see Mason relocate to the central coast, as are the supporters, 83 percent of whom voted in favour of the move in an on-line poll.
