Cowboys slam Sharks tactics

North Queensland have hit out at the tactics of the Cronulla Sharks after several Cowboys players were injured in Saturday’s game.

The Cowboys defeated the Sharks in a close round one match in the NRL. Cronulla half James Maloney was officially warned over a cannonball tackle on North Queensland’s James Tamou.

“We have had a couple of injuries, a couple of guys aren’t training today because of a couple of incidents that happened in the game,” Cowboys coach Paul Green told AAP.

“Matt Scott won’t have a run today – but he wasn’t one of the worse ones.”

Cowboys prop Matt Scott wasn’t pleased about several Sharks’ tackles that targeted the legs of his teammates.

“It is pretty dangerous,” Scott said.

“It is not what you want to see because you can suffer lower leg injuries like that.”
