North Queensland have added prodigiously talented Michael Morgan to their squad, after the youngster opted to sign a three year deal.

Morgan has already made four first grade appearances for the Cowboys and captained the club’s Toyota Cup side to fourth place.

He has also been selected for Queensland and Australia Schoolboys.

Cowboys General Manager – Football Peter Parr says Morgan’s inclusion in the 2011 NRL side is a both reward for hard work and a promise of things to come.

“Michael is a promising young player with a big future at NRL level and we’re delighted that he has recommitted to the club for another three years,” Parr said.

“He has the flexibility to perform strongly at either halfback or five-eighth and will certainly be part of our mix for the halves next season.”

Morgan is keen for the chance to make his mark in the new-look Cowboys squad, having commenced pre-season training with the NRL squad early this month.

“I got the taste for first grade last season and it was a fantastic experience to partner with a player of Johnathan Thurston’s status,” Morgan said.

“I believe I can continue to learn and develop my career with the Cowboys and I’m looking forward to where the next three years take me.”
